Funny Moment with the scale...

Today I stepped on the scale in our bathroom. It showed I weighed about 15 pounds more than I did just a few days ago. I thought maybe the children had messed with the zero knob. So I got off and checked it, zeroed it out. Then I got back on. It read the same thing- 15 pounds up from three days ago. I thought, maybe our scale has finally died. We bought it about seven years ago form a thrift store, maybe it's seen it's last days. So, I thought I'd check by weighing the children: Hyrum showed about 15-16 lbs- that was right, Rebekah showed about 24 lbs-that was right too. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. So, I stepped on the scale again- still 15 pounds higher than I should be. I look down at my waist. Maybe I really did gain 15 pounds. No, my pants were a little tight this morning, but I still got them buttoned. If I had gained that much I doubt I'd have gotten them on. So, I tried one last time- still 15 pounds up. Then, suddenly the light bulb flashes in my brain! Silly me, I had the baby in my arms the whole time! I laid him down and tried again. I was relieved to see that I weighed about the same as I did a few days ago. Wow, that was a silly moment.

Easter

We were blessed to have a visit from my mom, three sisters, and two brother-in-laws for Easter. It was fun to have them visit, they just left this morning. The children miss all the attention. We didn't do much for Easter, except the most important things: attend church, and spend time with family. We didn't do the Easter Bunny thing, we're not sure we want to encourage the Pagan part of the holiday. Although, the children did get to do an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday with some friends. My mom also brought new Easter clothes for the children. They sure are cute!
My sister, Brittany, and Hyrum

My mom holding Hyrum- he wasn't feeling well that day-poor baby. Luckily he's starting to feel better now.

Family Picture attempts

A few weeks ago we went to a professional studio to get our family pictures taken. It didn't work out so well because the children just wanted to run, they didn't want to sit and smile. We got a couple of half-decent pictures (can't post them because of the copyright) but I wanted one that I really like. So, we created a little studio in our living room and set up the tripod. Here are some of our attempts. The one at the top of our blog with the frame is probably the best one so far. Some of our attempts were pretty funny. It's hard to get three children to smile and look at the camera at the same time.
This one would be the best except Timothy forgot to duck a little.

Oops!

What were they looking at?

Give me the EVIL eye.

Our shoes look nice, don't they?

What a hassle

This one's not too bad except that our back drop fell right before the picture took.

Now, you ask, why don't you get someone to come over and try to take a picture. Well, Timothy's Mom and sisters came for a visit about a week and a half ago. So, they tried taking some. Here are those attempts:

I hope you've found our family picture attempts humorous. It's been crazy, but fun.
