We can't believe our Brigham-boy is six years old now. How the time flies.
He was excited for his birthday!
We opened presents in the morning before Daddy went to work. Rebekah gave Brigham a dinosaur shapes things that you can put them together to make tesalations. He had fun discovering how the dinosaurs fit together. Hyrum gave him a nerf basketball hoop that hooks on the back of the door with a ball. That gives him something to do when he gets in trouble and gets sent to his room.
I gave Brigham some books and a model Jeep Cheroke.
Timothy gave Brigham camp chair- you can tell how Brigham felt about that by the look on his face.
Nana and Papa (and family) gave Brigham some good books, cars, and a semi truck to put them in.
He's been playing with the truck and cars a lot, he also really likes the traffic signs that can with it.
Brigham requested a basketball birthday cake, which I quickly agreed to because I'd done it before and it was one of the easiest cakes I've made.
Brigham is a joy to have in our family. He has a great sense of humor and keeps us laughing. He has recently been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome which is like a high-functioning autism. This diagnosis has been liberating for our family because we feel like we can better understand some of his behaviors and now we can learn how to address his needs better. As he's been growing, but some of his skills haven't it has been very frustrating for us for know what to do. But, I think understanding him will help us immensely.
Brigham is reading the Book of Mormon now (with only a little help on the big words). He also has been learning a lot about science and has a curiosity about how things work.
Happy Birthday, Brigham! We sure love you!
