Three sets of twins
Not much has been happening at our house lately that has seemed "post-worthy". That's why things have been a bit stagnant. Lots has been happening for us personally and financially, but it's not stuff one usually shares with the world. We've been struggling (still) with our children attaching to us as their parents, but we've been doing some research and are finding that most adopted children-even those adopted as newborns have a hard time fully accepting their adoptive parents because they are trying to grieve over the loss of a mother. Anyway, Timothy and I are taking a 10 week class on attachment and are hoping to learn ways to strengthen our relationships with each of our children.

Too cute of a picture. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteSorry that you are having such struggles. I find myself struggling with being attached to my children and I gave birth to them! Sometimes when we've had lots of bad days with major behavior issues I'm scared at how distant I feel from them. I think it's something we all have to work at. It's tough, but it sounds like you are doing your best to make things work.
ReplyDeleteYou are so wonderful to make such an investment into your children.
ReplyDeleteYou hide your struggles well. I would never guess that they were having attachment problems--you always seem to be in control no matter what and they seem to adore you. I know you aren't supposed to compare yourself to others, but I find myself sometimes thinking--I wish I was as good at that as Jessica. (The whole teaching your children to read is one great example.) Hope you get what you want out of the class. You really are pretty amazing.
