Hyrum is five now! He had a great birthday. He was able to have a party on his birthday so three of his friends were able to come and share in the celebration at the park.
He requested a dinosaur cake. So this is what I came up with. I was pretty pleased I think it turned out nice. He loved it, and that's what matters.
Opening gifts
Hyrum is a happy boy and he has a great sense of humor. He's enjoying preschool this year. (Last year he didn't enjoy it much.) We have him at the University preschool. He's starting to make a friend or two there. He's struggling a little bit in the classroom, but for the most part he's doing well. He is super smart! He's reading BOB books now and sounds out every word he see's and is getting better and better at reading. He also enjoys numbers and is trying to keep up with Brigham and Rebekah's first grade math. He has been sleeping through the night for about 3-4 months, which has been a big blessing. It's so nice to get a full night's sleep! He really struggles with frustration tollerance and impulse control. We have tried a lot of interventions and have had some success. He is improving in many ways, it's just slow going. But we sure love him and we'll keep trying. He is a delight to have in so many ways, He is so excited to be a big brother soon! He talks to the baby all the time, and tells me all the nice things he's going to do for the baby when it comes. :) We're so glad to have Hyrum in our family.

Haha- I love the dinosaur cake. You designed a complete Jurassic scene! The kids had tons of fun at the party, thanks for inviting us. Also what are BOB books? I'm going to invite myself over to check them out :)
