Brigham's birthday

 Brigham is seven!  We had a little family party on his birthday after dinner.  (Gram-Gram, Aunt Cindy, and two cousins- Daryk and William) came to visit and it just happened to be Brigham's birthday.  It was fun to have them here.  Brigham wanted a Care Bear cake- so this is my attempt.  I've decided not to stress about how the cake looks, the kids don't really care as long as it's close to what they wanted.  It looks silly, but oh well.

 Then, on Saturday we let Brigham invite a few friends over to the park for a small party.  We told him he could invite 5, but he could only think of 4 and then forgot to give an invitation to one of his friends.  But the three that got invitations showed up!  We also invited a neighbor boy who was at the park at the time to join us.

 I let them decorate their own cupcakes which was a big success!  They loved it and it didn't take much preparation on my part.

Brigham is a very creative and imaginative boy.  He sometimes lives in his own little world- which right now is Care Bears.  Everything good that happens comes from the Care Bears belly patches, and everything bad that happens is because of Grizzle- according to Brigham.  :)  Brigham is doing very well in school the work comes very easily for him, and he is doing a much better job this year at making friends, and interacting positively with the other children.  He still exhibits a lot of autistic type behaviors, but he is learning to work with and around his sensory issues, and with a lot of verbal guidance and practice his social skills are really improving.  He is one amazing and lovable little seven year old!  We sure love him and are so glad that he is in our family!
