Some of you know that we have chickens, others, this may be news. We started out with 6 chickens in the end of September. Then, one died a few weeks later, so we replaced it with two. Now, we have a total of Seven. Here's a picture of me with the chicks back in September. (Timothy built that coop from mostly scrap wood! Doesn't it look great?)

Here's the two plymouth rocks

Here is one of our five Rhode Island Reds

For the first time today we got two eggs from our chickens! They're small, but I'm sure they'll taste good!

That coop looks great! I think it would be fun to have chickens but I don't know if Ben is up for it and I still don't know where to find out if I can even do it in my city. We'll see. Good luck at the committee!
ReplyDeleteReds and Rocks are great hardy chickens. Good choices for your area. I'm jealous that you have fresh eggs. Don't worry the eggs will get bigger as the chickens get older.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the committee!
Congrats on starting a blog. Good luck with the adoption committee.
